Meet Our Trainers

It doesn’t get easier - you just get stronger.

Britt Ivan

Britt has always loved sports and as a kid competed in everything from gymnastics to track and field, making the Sask First team for sprints and hurdles. Lately she’s been doing more endurance running, completing some ultramarathons (the first being 100 km on a treadmill) and qualifying for Boston. She’s afraid of trail running though, because of her wretched sense of direction (true story). Her journey into personal training started with hiring a trainer for a couple years and then a running coach. Ahead of that, she ran some decent enough half marathons and loved strength training but got quite average results. Despite putting a lot of time in, she was just finding random programs and more or less winging it. The experience of having a coach and specialized programs was eye-opening because of the results she was able to obtain in a fairly short amount of time. The consistency, accountability, and continual learning are why she plans to
always have a coach.

A couple of foot surgeries and various injuries have taught her to respect recovery days, how to work around and help prevent injury, and not to skip the boring prehab work, especially as you age and/or want to compete well. As the saying goes, if at first you don’t succeed, try doing what your trainer told you!
